May Cottage Interior & Grounds

May Cottage provides luxury self-catering holiday accommodation in Stow-on-the-Wold for 4 in two bedrooms, all on one level.

Sitting Room

The sitting room is large and provides space for dining as well as access to a new private patio through double French windows and a door to the new conservatory. In addition to full central heating the sitting room has an open log fire in an original Georgian marble fireplace for which logs are provided. A 32" flat screen TV (with Sky Q with access to Sky Sports and internet services such as Netflix) with DVD player, pulls out on a extended turntable from the cupboard on the right-hand side of the fireplace, and there is also a mini Hi-Fi with CD player. Dedicated secure WiFi is available throughout May Cottage. The bookcase has an interesting selection of books and there is a separate collection of paperbacks, games and local information for our guests. All the soft furnishings meet the latest fire standard and the antique furniture is in keeping with the Georgian period of the main house. The table lamps are on a 3 amp circuit and controlled from single wall switches at each end of the room.

Bedrooms

The master bedroom (with a UK king-size bed) is light and airy with arched windows opening onto the garden and the conservatory. A luxury bathroom is en-suite and the bed has an electric blanket. The second bedroom has twin beds and is also very light and airy looking onto the private front garden and incorporates a built-in hanging cupboard with shelves and drawers and a dressing table. Both beds have electric blankets. This bedroom also has its own separate access to the luxury bathroom. Both bedrooms have wall-mounted flat-screen TVs (with 40 Freeview Channels) with remote controls. A cot and high chair are available on request for guests with babies. There is also a secure safe available.

Bathroom

A luxury bathroom incorporates a bath, separate walk-in shower, basin, WC and heated ceramic non-slip floor. The walls have travertine tiles and there is a well-designed bathroom cabinet above the basin and electric (110/220V) shaver socket. The bathroom has under-floor heating in addition to a large wall-mounted towel rail.

Kitchen

The small but well-designed kitchen has with black granite worktops and matching appliances, high quality oven and hob, dishwasher, integrated washer-dryer and separate fridge and fridge-freezer. The equipment is also high-end with anodised pans and Spode china. Wine and nibbles are there to greet you as well as bacon, eggs, bread, butter, fruit juice, tea, coffee, sugar, condiments and herbs. All the necessary cleaning materials and equipment are also supplied.

Conservatory

A hand crafted conservatory accessible from both the master bedroom and the sitting room adds a very light and useful feature to the cottage especially in the winter months as it is fully double glazed and heated.

The conservatory opens onto a private patio with table and chairs at the rear of the cottage. In the summer months a gas BBQ is provided together with large sun umbrella.

Gardens

Although the cottage has its own private area to the front and side, guests are free to walk through the gardens of the main house which cover just under half an acre. The cottage also has a private BBQ area and garden seating and a shed with a large stock of logs and kindling to the side of the property.
